A FOH mix is part of a whole production. Sound, just like lighting, video, and special effects, is just as important. In order to achieve a consistent successful production for your tour, everything has to be perfect. Allow me to contribute my knowledge of mixing for your tour.

Similar to FOH, mixing Monitors for today’s Artists, at any level, requires a high level of precision, and day to day consistency making it a crucial position. You have to be on your “A” game the entire time. Since the introduction of IEM’s (In Ear Monitors), a monitor engineer not only has to create a complex mix according to the artist preferences, but also has to find the middle ground to avoid potential hearing damage.

Anybody can learn the technical / academic aspects of how to become a sound engineer, however learning how to do magic with your mixes is reserved for only a few people.
